Peanut arrived as one of the youngest and smallest of the miniature horses. He is black with white patches sometimes called a ‘pinto.' He came from the Waterloo horse sale with one eye looking unusually cloudy and blue. After several visits to veterinary eye specialists in Hiawatha and Ames, Peanut has been diagnosed with glaucoma, a disease related to pressure within his eyes. He is on special medication to slow its progress and enjoys time roaming and growing up with the Sanctuary herd.
