Punky came to Mary’s farm with her mother Belle when she was 4 weeks old. Unlike her miniature pinto mother, Punky has similar coloring to Dutch, brown with a blond mane and tail. Punky took to Dutch immediately—she worshipfully follows him around as though Dutch is her father.  Punky and Belle were rescued from a sale barn, and both were extremely malnourished because Belle, Punky's mom had a broken jaw and was unable to eat. After coming to Mary’s farm, Punky and Belle enjoyed plentiful food and a place to roam.  Punky struggles a bit with nerve damage in one of her legs, but enjoys grazing and trailing Dutch, and, yes, a nice rub of her butt on the fence from time to time.
